FAB Football Academy has various centres across multiple locations in Gurgaon. And all of these centers have varied ground types, requiring a different shoe type.
The right tool for the right job can make the game a lot easier for the player, and similarly, the wrong tool makes it difficult.
For our young kids, having the wrong shoe can mean making consistent mistakes, bad performances and slow growth, without any fault of their own. This can lead to low confidence, self-doubt and loss of love for the game.
In this post, we will dive into the following topics:
- How the right shoe can boost your child’s game?
- How to know what the right shoe is?
- How to find the right shoe for your child?
How the right shoe can boost your child’s game?
A typical football training session or game involves constant sprinting and slowing down while making quick and sharp turns, and of course, trying to kick the ball hard. Therefore, if the type of shoe doesn’t match the kind of ground, it can lead to slipping, twisting of the ankle, impact pain and falling. This can further lead to blisters, sprains and even joint injuries in the long run.
Having the right shoe can provide traction, ankle support and impact protection, putting the above problems to the side. This helps the child develop consistently without having to hinder their training due to discomfort or injuries.
How to know what the right shoe is?
Football grounds can vary a lot and for each ground type, there can be a separate type of shoe. Here is the kind of shoe matched to the type of ground:
•Firm Ground (FG): If the pitch is made of natural grass, then the ideal shoes will need to have studs on the bottom of the shoe, as they provide grip and stability.
•Artificial Ground (AG): If the pitch is made of artificial grass, then the ideal shoes will need to have shorter and a greater number of studs on the bottom of the shoe. These will help with better traction on artificial surfaces.
•Indoor Shoes: If the pitch is indoors and looks like a badminton/basketball or a futsal court, then the ideal shoes are the ones that are completely flat at the bottom. This helps provide grip while not damaging the court
•Multi-Ground (MG): Versatile shoes that work on both natural and artificial surfaces, making them a great all-around option especially if your child plays on multiple grounds.
How do you find the right one for your child?
The right shoe depends on the foot structure and the preference of the individual. To find the right fit, you have to try out the shoes. The error that most people make is that they buy online and then it doesn’t feel quite right.
To start with, try out well-known brands like Decathlon, Nike, Adidas, Nivea and Puma.
In conclusion, the right shoe can help your child focus and improve consistently in their game, whereas the wrong shoe can hinder their progress and even cause low confidence problems. So, make sure your child plays with the right shoes.
